We at Conservatives for Liberty don’t think regulators should prevent businesses providing the services people want, yet Transport for London is proposing to regulate Uber in a way that will make the service worse for customers and make life very difficult for drivers.
They claim it is about safety, but making people wait longer for cars – when many people use Uber alone at night – suggests otherwise.
The proposed restrictions will be detrimental to consumers and punishes competition driven innovation . The government should not interfere in the free exchange of services to protect the black cab cartel. The Licenced Taxi Driver’s Association is a powerful lobby, but nothing like as powerful as the consumer. Make your voice heard:
